Health
Alright, yeh. So. Still sniffly but what's new? I have been sleeping really well few the past few nights, just to top off the awesome feeling of sleep my dreams have been extremely lucid. Which pair those together I'm a happy chap.
My fingers are aching though, I swear, Guitar Hero should have a warning stating that your fingers will be forever ruined by playing.
The Garden
Powering on.
Beans - Butter:3 picked so far // Purple:2 growing
Peas - 3 plants, 1:flowering almost hit top of trellis // 2:same but not flowered // 3:stunted, may have staked through it
Tomatoes - 2 plants, 1&2:wilted after flowering
Potatoes - too soon to tell but 2 bushes are big
Carrots - 2 sprouts, nice and green
Chillies - 2 plants, 1&2:both flowered and both producing fruit now
Basil - Down to one, horrible and dying yet still flowering
Aloe - 6 'leaves'
Rose - Sprouted a huge thick stalk directly sideways :/
Overall I'm quite pleased with how it's going. Seaweed fertilizer worked amazingly well and gave everything a huge boost.
Art Wise
Shock, horror! I actually took a couple photos yesterday. We went for a walk at Mooloolaba and out onto the walkway thing. Took some ocean photos, a couple pervy ones of this girl on the beach that we were trying to establish if she was naked (she wasn't, but I learnt my camera can zoom a hell of a long way) and I chased what I think was a hawk for a while. All in all, well worth going out. Don't know if I'll actually upload any, but it's a start to actually be out taking photos.
Employment
49.5/80hrs complete. Weekly.
0/80hrs complete. 2 Week Block.
So, everything is going well at my placement, hours are going down very quick and my book is filling up reasonably fast. Some of the competencies are just ridiculous and so we are only half doing them, basing them more on verbal theory than actual practice. As, how often do you get people who are disabled coming in who need special care/attention whilst making a purchase.
Other work, this Saturday, and next. Debating on telling them I'll be available during the holidays.
So, it turns out that Coles must be paying above the award seeing as 2 friends both work there and they are getting nearly $4p/h more than me. This being of the same age and same job title. Ridiculous.
The rest.
-hack cough splutter- I almost choked on my coffee
Other than the above, previously mentioned somewhat hints as to what I've being doing. A few things that have changed here.
- My fingers are slowly dying since our purchase of Guitar Hero, gosh damn, that game is oddly addictive.
- I will be on 2 weeks holiday starting next week(technically) but seeing as I've done my placement for this week and TAFE hours, it basically started yesterday
- The other weekend I went out and broke my ClubGinity (virginity of clubbing), at the time I wasn't too impressed, I don't really get the whole club scene. I'm sure though being there with people I know and feeling obliged to hang around with them made it odd. And the whole being in a relationship with someone would prohibit dancing like a whore. I don't know, I'm sure I could have fun. Plus, after being in a place like that, I can see why drugs are so rampant.
Nothing more to report on, just my half assed movie reviews and this time a couple game reviews.
Movies // Series // Games
^Changed the title to suit this journal, seeing as I haven't actually watched any movies due to watching series and playing games.
Skins Season 3 (2008)
Channel 4's critically-acclaimed drama follows the angst-ridden lives of its teenage characters, as they grapple with issues of race, religion, sexuality, drugs, and eating disorders. Skins' portrayal of these characters as poster children of the hedonistic lifestyle is unflinching in its candour. The third series does way with the established characters of Tony, Maxxie, Sid and the gang, and introduces a whole new cast of angst-ridden teens. So expect plenty more bitching, backstabbing, and general bad behaviour in this, the complete third series.
I was a bit disappointed really. I liked the old characters, after 2 seasons they grow on you and from watching the first two(assuming anyone who has read this has) Effy is a stuckup little ho like her brother. By the end they grew on me a little but it just seemed like they were all remakes of the old ones shoved into the same plotlines just different faces and places. 7 1/2 stars, just cause of how amusing and stupid some of the stuff they did was.
Crysis(Game) (2007)
From the makers of Far Cry comes the most technologically advanced video game ever made, with graphics to make you gasp and enemy artificial intelligence so clever it could give SkyNET a run for its money. With Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 now well established, Crysis has become the new milestone for PC graphics and first person shoot em-ups. The premise of the game involves an alien landing on an island off North Korea, with you as the only person that can stop it. The incredibly realistic looking environments are the games initial draw, with some particularly stunning looking jungle locales. All the levels include dynamic effects to make them even more realistic (and dangerous) including earthquakes, breaking ice, landslides and tornadoes. Since the alien decides to flash freeze the entire island half way through the game, and the final sections end up in a zero gravity spaceship, its unlikely youre going to get tired of the same old environments.
They all keep trying to disappoint me. 'From the makers of Far Cry' comes a game where they didn't really change the level structure at all since Far Cry. I liked it more than Far Cry, the suit idea was good, the levels though the same were good, vehicles were good, human enemies were good then all of a sudden BANG, freakin' aliens. Ruined the whole game for me. If I want an alien game I'll play an alien game, but they shouldn't tempt me with ragdoll physics and explosions just to be cruel and have a giant flying boss at the end. 7 stars, purely lowered by the presence of aliens, otherwise it would have been 8/9.
